New Customs: Deluxe NWO Hollywood Hogan and Christian April 26, 2008

Hulk Hogan reinvented wrestling twice: first during the birth of Hulkamania, and second during the birth of the NWO. Hulkamania in 1984 made wrestling a worldwide pop-culture phenomenon and an unbelievably popular sport. When it lost steam in the late 90s at the wake of the steroid scandal, wrestling became “cool” again when Hogan formed the NWO and became Hollywood Hogan. As Hollywood, he managed to redefine the heel character. Rather than the traditional “bad guy,” Hogan gave birth to a more realistic, street-smart villain, with none of the usual wrestling gimmicks and devices. Say what you want about him, but he is truly, well, “immortal.” Here he is, the second coming of Hulk Hogan, in Deluxe Aggression form.

Christian could have been WWE’s next main eventer. I have no idea why they chose not to pass the ball to him at the time when the “peepulation” was gaining a lot of steam, but Christian and the “Peeps” are lucky that TNA was around. Here is a custom of Christian as part of the suicide blondes with Edge, one of the most entertaining tag teams during the Attitude era:

Be sure to check them out on eBay!

By the way, zulbrunei and sdkwwe both emailed me over the last few days about a video on YouTube sdkwwe created with a picture compilation of some of my figures. I sincerely thank you and appreciate the support. Click here to see the video by sdkwwe. Warp back in time and click here to see the video by zulbrunei.

Thanks for looking and enjoy the weekend!

That Hogan would be sweet to get. I guess that’s really the point it’s for MOC (Mint on Card) display.

I’m really one of the peeps. Christian, please come back to WWE.

Now that’s classic.

Thanks for the comment. Hogan can actually be played with, but they’re customs so you’d have to be extremely careful.

OK nice Deluxe NWO Hogan. I assume that the head was from a rocky series when he was thunderlips? The Christian was cool also. Keep up the good work. How about making a deluxe Christian like how he is now in TNA?
